The Universal Kali-Silat curriculum is broken down into modules of learning. Classes are taught in one hour increments. Ranking is based on hours spent training with proficiency in skill as a determining factor. The beginner student with no experience in the Filipino Martial Arts will generally progress according to the time table above. If the student trains two hours a week, they can expect to progress through the rankings up through Apprentice Instructor 2 in approximately one year of study.
Students from Modern Filipino Kun Tao will already have a base knowledge of the fundamental components of Universal Kali-Silat and will enter the ranking structure based on the experience and ability demonstrated to the instructor.
