The Rossi Kun Tao / Rossi Self-Defense System that has been named for its teacher, Grandmaster Joe Rossi. The theories, methods, and techniques of Grandmaster Rossi are carried forward by his first, second, and third generation black belts.
Grandmaster Rossi learned the art of hand to hand combat during his enlistment in the United States Armed Services. In his training, Grandmaster Rossi was taught survival combat skills that would become the genesis for the Rossi Self-Defense System. A man who was selective with who he taught; Grandmaster Rossi taught only a few the art of Kun Tao.
Modern Filipino Kun Tao is based in Rossi Kun Tao & Self-Defense System. The history, techniques, philosophies, and ideologies of Modern Filipino Kun Tao are all derived from what Grandmaster Rossi started in Waterbury, Connecticut, many years ago. It was intentional the Modern Filipino Kun Tao mirrors closely Grand Master Rossi's Kun Tao and Self-Defense System and Kun Tao.
When Grandmaster Rossi passed away, he took much of his system with him. Since his passing, the Rossi Self-Defense System has been spread from his first to second and third generation black belts.
